Yesterday we visited Mahana Beach. yup that's right, I've got a beach with my name on it. thank you very much. Unfortunately the sign for it is SUPER old and barely legible and really pretty lame. If you squint just right you'll be able to read, "Welcome to Mahana Bay Beach. Please do not take the sand. There is only so much of it and if everybody that is here takes it, well soon there won't be any. Thank you."
We had to 4-wheel drive to it, then you had your choice of climbing down lava rocks or risk sliding down the sandy slope. We went down the rocks and up the slope (had to switch it up ya know?) It's a tiny beach but it has GREEN sand...not green green, more like olive green. But the water was beautiful and the surrounding cliffs pretty sweet. I think it fair to say, Mahana Beach rocked.
