Poor Alex. It just hasn't been his best few days. First off, he has some weird bacterial eye infection that started out in his right eye, then moved to the left, then decided it liked both at the same time. So he's got the redness, the puffiness, and the yucky muscous eye gunk to boot. During the day it's not as bad because we flush it out but at night--oh heavens. It's like torture or something. It just goops up, then dries his eyes shut. Disgusting. In the morning we spend like a 1/2 hour just trying to get it all off.
And if this wasn't bad enough. He had a mighty fall last night. Jake puts alex on his back, so that alex has to put his arms around jake's neck, and then jake puts his hands behind his back for alex to stand on. Well, my mistake, I handed alex a cookie during that time, and alex let go with both hands so Jake lost his hold, and BAM. Face to gravel driveway. Jake was able to kind of grab him by the legs during the descent but the damage was done. He had a nice bruise the formed instantly, blood, tears, and dirt combo going. Yup, not his best past few days. This picture is the day after. Luckily kids bounce back (some times literally) pretty fast.
